Waitomo is a bespoke artificial green wall theme based on ferns and plants found near the mouths of caves deep in the New Zealand bush.
It is one of our most popular vertical garden themes. We make the panels in our New Zealand workshop using premium grade imported plants and foliage.
Readyleaf vertical garden panels are dense and lush.
Pricing ranges from $400-600/sq.m depending on the quantity and type of plants used.
Vertical gardens often look best when they don’t fully cover a wall. It all depends on the size of the room and the average viewing distance.
For instance, if your wall is 2.4m high by 4.0m wide it is often better and more effective to have a feature of 1.8m high by 3m long. Especially if your budget falls short of the cost of wall to wall cover. In fact wall to wall cover can often be overpowering.
If a price is more than your budget allows, it is better to reduce the area covered rather than reduce the quantity of plants. Too few plants can have a sparse effect.
Most of our green walls consist of a 40mm foam backing covered with artificial foliage tiles. Plants are then pushed through the foliage and embedded in the foam.
Installation is usually very straightforward. It’s just a matter of screwing the panels to the wall. We number them according to their place in the layout and provide a legend showing where each panel goes.
